Echoes of Eden
in progressA four-book romantasy series. Book one is finished — 25 chapters, a ten-hour narration, and a language nobody was supposed to still be speaking.
What it is
A romantasy series built on a linguistics premise: that the ‘pure language’ of early Mormon theology — the tongue spoken in Eden — was never a metaphor, and that fragments of it survive in every language alive today.
Book one, Awakening of Light, follows Colette Rousseau, a BYU linguistics grad student six years into a PhD she may never finish. Her impossible thesis turns out to be correct, which proves far more dangerous than being wrong.
The manuscript is done — about 94,000 words across 25 chapters, with a full audiobook narration and a typeset edition.
Where I want it to go
Publish book one through Amazon KDP with a cover, blurb and metadata that actually reach romantasy readers, then write books two through four.
Four books, one arc — and book one has to earn the other three.
Next up
- Final cover selection and KDP metadata.
- Beta reader feedback on pacing and on whether the ending lands.
- Draft book two.
Want to read it before anyone else?
I'm looking for beta readers — people willing to finish it and tell me the truth about the slow parts. You'd get the audiobook and the full text, and I'd send you the password.
Tell me what you think
Where did you get bored, confused, or want to put it down? That's more useful to me than praise.
