What it is

In September 2026 the Church changed how youth classes run. Sunday School studies Come, Follow Me, and then Young Women and the Aaronic Priesthood quorums study a chapter of the For the Strength of Youth guide — two separate lessons, back to back, planned by two different people who have never been asked to talk to each other.

Both schedules are fixed worldwide, so every Sunday is the same pairing for every ward on earth. This builds the bridge between them: one sentence on how this week’s scripture block illuminates this month’s chapter, then three teaching ideas that each cite both, a class game that needs nothing but what is already in a chapel bag, five questions, an invitation, something to send home to parents, and a card for the youth.

It links to the official lesson and never reproduces it. The Church’s own guidance is that this kind of tool can help a teacher prepare but cannot do the preparing, so everything on the page says so out loud.

The art is generated and deliberately has no people in it. The videos are searched only against a short list of verified official Church channels — there is a private music channel with a few hundred subscribers named exactly “For the Strength of Youth”, which is why matching by name would have been a bad idea.

Where I want it to go

That one leader in one ward opens it on a Saturday night and teaches better on Sunday than she would have. That is the whole test. If it does not do that, none of the rest matters.

If it does do that, the same thing works for every ward in the Church without changing a line, because the pairing is identical everywhere. That would mean asking the Church for permission first, which has not happened and should not be assumed.

Next up

  • Get it in front of the Young Women leader it was built for and find out whether she uses any of it.
  • Add November and December once the magazine publishes those lesson titles.
  • Decide whether the editing screen is something a leader would ever actually touch, or whether it only needs to be good enough for me.

Teach youth, or know someone who does?

It is one ward’s tool right now, behind a passcode. Leave your email if you would want to try it in yours, and I will tell you if it ever becomes something I can share.

No list, no newsletter — just me, when there's news.

Tell me what you think

If you teach youth: open this Sunday and tell me which single thing you would use, and which thing you would never use. One of each is more useful than a general reaction — and if the answer is “none of it”, that is the most useful answer of all.
